Welcome everyone! I'm excited to share a terrific guest post “from a talented non-profit dynamo“ Reena Bhatia. Reena serves as the Vice President of Education Programs at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) where she oversees the Eduational Facilities Financing Center (EFFC), a group which aids charter schools and CMOs in financing school facilities. Through a varied, impressive career in non profits, start ups, and finance, Reena offers women her experience taking her career to the next level. Enjoy!
Over to Reena:
How was I able to take my career to the next level? Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't just a little bit of dumb luck along with a lot of hard work and determination.
An underestimated but powerful way to tap into your passion is to engage a coach. Â Coaching is the practice of meeting with a credentialed, trained, or experienced professional who helps individuals identify their career interests, secure a new job, and strategize about career management and promotions.
Career coaches can even help people transition back into the workforce after children or other significant life changes. How do you use a coach? As the recipient of these services, you can and should ask career coaches for an explanation of their services, fees, and ethical guidelines before getting involved.
